Middleton Tyas Village Shop opened as a community shop in August 2004. As a community shop it is not privately owned but is run by a committee, two paid staff and some lovely volunteers.
It's a small tardis-like shop, stocking everyday food and household items as well as freshly baked bread, sweet treats and cakes, made-to-order sandwiches and fantastic local ham and meats.
We're proud of our little shop because of the sense of community it helps to maintain. Our customers love being able to walk in to a shop where they know they'll get the personal touch and where the staff often know their name.
